The official beginner guide describes building and exploration as a solo factory loop. It does not provide a multiplayer menu, server setup, or cooperative progression instructions.
Community experiments are different
The collected Fluxloader catalogue includes Sandustry Together 0.5.0 by darude. Its readme describes experimental online co-op in which one player hosts, another joins with a room code, and both players work in the host’s world. The same readme warns to expect bugs, desyncs, and crashes, and says save corruption cannot be ruled out.
That makes Sandustry Together a community mod experiment, not evidence that multiplayer is an official game mode. Its notes also call out incomplete synchronization, including some gun projectiles, so it should not be treated as a dependable feature for an existing factory save.
How to interpret future announcements
Until the developer or the official store adds a co-op listing, assume a normal Sandustry installation is single-player. Check the official store and developer channels for changes, and keep experimental modded sessions separate from important saves.
